Wed, 17 Nov 2004Spam does payThe case against recently-convicted spammer Jeremy James, as reported by The Spam Weblog, shows why spammers persist—it pays off very nicely. Apparently James got money from between 10,000 and 17,000 individuals each month and made between $400,000 and $750,000 per month. I’m glad he’s going to jail, but I’d really like to have a meeting of minds with the idiot customers—if they’d stop responding, the spammers would stop spamming. But, for as long as there are cretins out there who will buy from spammers, the rest of us will have to put up with spam. It’s enough to make you want to go on a crusade with a baseball bat.
