Tue, 31 Aug 2004Apple knows bestWhen I went to setup the clock on my powerbook, I was pleased to see there was an option to have it run NTP—although they don’t mention the name of the mechanism anywhere. I was less happy to see that they offered a drop down menu with just some Apple time servers in far-flung corners of the world. But then I tried to enter the NTP server on the local network by hand and it was accepted by the GUI utility and I was pleased. That lasted until I ran ntptrace, which showed clearly that my selection had just been ignored …
